Ryan Bailey started his dance training at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC where he received a BA in dance. At UMBC, he was granted the Linehan Artist Scholarship, as well as being awarded the Outstanding Senior in Choreography and given a Summer Dance Research Award Grant by the UMBC Dance Department. Always the interested student, Ryan studied at the Tokyo Academy in Louisiana and at Artistry Dance Company where he trained in a variety of styles. Equally interested in performance and choreography, he has been highlighted as a performer in the America College Dance Association 2014 Festival. This success continued with his choreography being chosen to represent UMBC and selected for the ACDA Gala performance in 2016. In addition to his recognition at UMBC, Ryan’s works have been featured in The Hollywood Summer Tour and The Pulse on Tour where he received a scholarship and an award to attend NYC’s Artist’s In Motion and have his works presented at the Ailey Theater in NYC. During his tenure in Maryland, Ryan has performed with the Howard County Ballet Company, Gaite Parisienne, Baltimore Dance Project, and Alternative Dance Project directed by Lance and Danielle Guillermo. He is currently the Assistant Director of Artistry Dance Company as well as the Director of Project C’s competition group, Reaction Dance Company, and has had his choreography performed alongside Cirque Du Soleil in their Dreams Holidaze Tour. Hoping to make it to the final 20 on the TV show “So You Think You Can Dance” Ryan was able to make it to the top 23 contestants of the Philadelphia 2014 audition.
