Resident Teaching Artist
Marcelly Goncalves holds a Bachelor’s Degree from New York University where she concentrated her studies in Entertainment Management. She began her undergraduate career at NYU’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts as a Dance Major, but during her sophomore year she decided to refocus her area of study to become more involved in the arts as a whole by approaching the industry from a business perspective. Her academic interests have always revolved around her original love of dance.
Marcelly began dancing at the age of 7 and became a student at Project C Studios at the age of 12 – where her passion for dance truly developed. While in college, Marcelly continued to take dance classes regularly at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio Center, and Steps on Broadway where she studied Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, and Contemporary under renowned choreographers. Marcelly also holds a personal training certification with ACE and has worked as a personal trainer in New York City. Marcelly approaches her work as an artist through interdisciplinary perspectives, believing that it builds not only more versatile dancers, but individuals.
