Student Company
We are so excited about the 2022-2023 Project C Studios Student Company. Project C wants to empower dancers and families to be able to individualize their company experience. Dancers will be able to choose the number and type of pieces they want to be in. From there we will curate pieces with the selected dancers and styles. Everyone has autonomy and control over their work and the work they want to create, so every group of dancers we put together will be working for the same goals and artistic vision.Â
Class requirements and weekday rehearsal schedules will also vary from piece to piece, so being on our company can fit with every schedule. The minimum class requirement is two classes per dancer. These requirements will be individualized by piece and dancer. Each dancer will have a one-on-one meeting with the director to customize their schedule to meet their goals. If your dancer has more targeted interests you can apply to be in company for just one style. If your dancer is interested in everything, there’s no limit to what they can do. This is a newly developed program that doesn’t assume that one size fits all.
Level 3 and below dancers will be a part of the Core group, while level 4+ will be in the Catalyst group. Dancers that split levels can be cast into pieces from either group. Due to COVID-19, our audition process will be very different from past years. Dancers and a parent will fill out a written form, then, if needed, we may hold in-person small group auditions for piece selection.
